England Golf has become the first UK golf body to sign the Brighton and Helsinki Women in Sport Declaration.
The statement, external signifies the body’s commitment to equity for women and girls in sport and physical activity.
It was developed by the International Working Group (IWG) on Women and Sport after its establishment in 1994.
“We look forward to working with England Golf to further highlight their efforts towards gender equality,” said IWG general secretary Lisa O’Keefe.
The British Olympic Association and the English Sports Council are among more than 600 organizations around the world to have already signed the declaration.
Jeremy Tomlinson, Managing Director of England Golf, said: “Having launched our ‘Respect in Golf’ movement last year, we are reaffirming our commitment to encouraging everyone and everyone’s participation in golf.
“Our passion and dedication to promoting golf as an inclusive sport is unwavering, just as we support the participation of women and girls in every way possible.”
