talkSPORT’s Jason Cundy and Jamie O’Hara couldn’t agree on Chelsea’s dismal performance against Arsenal.
The Blues were beaten 5-0 by the Gunners on Tuesday night in their 11th Premier League defeat of the season.
It’s a result that leaves Chelsea’s hopes of European qualification hanging in the balance, with their rivals three points clear at the top of the table.
Arsenal were the much better team from the first minute and dominated the game, but former Blue Cundy believes their first half wasn’t so good from the home side.
After calling into the Sports Bar, he said: “Well, in the first half I thought Arsenal were average. After the first four minutes we were poor, I struggled with Alfie Gilchrist who was doing his Premier League debut.
“[Leandro] Trossard scores the goal, [Djordje] Petrovic is poor at the near post, after that I have to tell you, I thought Arsenal were average in the first half. We had chances and at half time it was 1-0, why do you think [Mikel] Has Arteta been booked? Because Arsenal weren’t there.”
After becoming visibly confused by what he was hearing, O’Hara asked, “What game were you watching? Are you laughing?”
“Arsenal weren’t there,” Cundy added, before O’Hara quickly stopped him again and replied: “You’re joking!”
Cundy insisted: “No, I’m not joking. Second half, I agree with you, terrible. We had chances, Jackson had chances…”
But O’Hara intervened again, saying: “Chances? Jase sorry mate, wait. Don’t come here… I know you’re a Chelsea man, don’t come here and say Arsenal were average in the first half-mate.
“It could have been 4-0 at halftime. You were completely beaten. I think Mykhailo Mudryk had a cross that Jackson could have put his head on, that was it, mate.
“You were totally outplayed, totally outclassed, totally outplayed, don’t come here and say you were fine. Come on buddy.”
“I can’t take you seriously, I can’t believe you would come here and say that,” he added.
“J, you were probably still on the phone texting someone,” Cundy replied but O’Hara laughed and reiterated: “You were miles away, you weren’t there, you was rubbish.”
Cundy continued his protests and then claimed O’Hara was “probably on Instagram again”, but was met with: “Don’t start being an idiot!”
Trossard scored after four minutes before two goals apiece from Ben White and Kai Havertz inflicted defeat on Chelsea.
The Blues sit ninth in the league and although they have six matches remaining, doubts remain over their ability to finish in the top seven and qualify for Europe.
