Dove Cameron, Booboo Stewart and Sofia Carson gathered for an evening in memory of one of their own.
THE Descendants The stars reunited on Thursday at the second annual Cam for a Cause event in memory of their partner Cameron Boyce, who died aged 20 following an epileptic seizure.
The trio seemed to channel their own inner fairy tales by wearing outfits reminiscent of the popular Disney Channel franchise. Cameron, 27, wore a white and teal dress with plant and flower embroidery as she posed next to Carson, 30, who appeared to embrace the villain theme with a floor-length black dress with sleeves puffy. Stewart, 29, opted for a more modern look, donning a gray suit jacket as well as a black shirt, black pants and black loafers.
The trio, playing the evil children of Maleficent, the Evil Queen and Jafar in the Disney Channel Original Movies, aired from 2015 to 2019. They always seemed close, pulling smiles and hugs at each other as they posed along the carpet for the event. Boyce was the final member of the quartet of villainous children, playing Carlos, the son of Cruella de Vil, in the films.
Another former co-star of Boyce’s attended the event in his honor: Adam Sandler, who played Boyce’s father in The adults And Grownups 2 also walked the purple carpet, flashing a peace sign to photographers while wearing a white palm tree-patterned shirt, gray sweater and light gray pants.
Boyce would have turned 24 last Sunday. The event, created by Boyce’s parents as part of the Cameron Boyce Foundation, aimed to raise awareness and find a cure for epilepsy and SUDEP (Sudden Unexpected Death Due to Epilepsy), which has caused the death of the young actor in July 2019.
THE Descendants cast members have paid tribute to the Disney Channel star over the years since his death. Last year, Carson paid tribute to the late actor by posting a sweet photo of them together on Instagram to mark three years since his passing.
In the photo, Carson could be seen hugging Boyce as they leaned their heads together to smile at the camera.
“Three years without you. I love you forever. I miss you forever,” Carson wrote in the caption.
