Burna Boy took to his Twitter page to thank the award organizers, saying he couldn’t attend the event in person because of his concert in Zurich

Nigerian singer and songwriter Ace, Damini Ogulu better known as Burna Boy took to social media on Wednesday, November 30 to react to the double award won at the 25th Annual MOBO Awards.

The ceremony to celebrate black music in the UK and around the world took place at Wembley Arena, with special awards also given to Nile Rodgers and Craig David, and posthumously to YouTube entrepreneur Jamal Edwards .
Burna Boy, who was unable to attend the event due to other commitments, won two awards for which he had received nominations from organizers.
He had been nominated in the Best African Music Act category alongside Asake, Tems, Adekunle Gold, Fireboy DML, Kabza De Small, Oxlade, Pheelz, Omah Lay and Rema.

He also won the Best International Act category, where he was nominated alongside Beyonce, Drake, Kendrick Lamar, Chris Brown, Jack Harlow, Jazmine Sullivan, Skillibeng, Summer Walker and Tems.

The singer, after winning both awards, took to his official Twitter account to thank the award organizers, his fans and everyone who voted for him.
He went on to explain that he couldn’t personally attend the event due to his concert in Zurich.
He wrote: “Thank you so much @MOBOAwards for both awards!!! Best International Act 2022 & Best African Music Act 2022.
“Sorry I couldn’t be there. Really grateful. Thank you to all my fans and those who voted #LOVEDAMINI”
Meanwhile, organizers announced ahead of the ceremony that the lifetime achievement award went to Chic star Nile Rodgers, while six-time MOBO winner Craig David was honored for his outstanding contribution to industry.
