Arsenal fans rubbed salt into Chelsea’s wounds with an X-rated chant following Kai Havertz’s brace in the 5-0 win.
The versatile German striker scored twice in the second half against his former employers following his £65million switch last summer.
Havertz was the subject of ridicule from Blues supporters who initially struggled to establish themselves in north London.
But he has been in lethal form in 2024 and was quick to bask in Chelsea’s misery when he put Mikel Arteta’s men 3-0 up in the 57th minute.
Running onto a pass from Martin Odegaard’s contender of the season, he raced past Marc Cucurella before firing into the roof of the net.
And instead of a muted celebration, he sprinted to the corner flag to pull in a knee slide.
Just eight minutes later, he then found the back of the net for the second time when he fired a shot off the post.
The Arsenal fans were in dreamland and were quick to taunt the Chelsea fans away.
They sang in unison: “He left because you’re a piece of shit, he left because you’re a piece of shit, Kai Havertz, he left because you’re a piece of shit.”
Havertz now has 11 Premier League goals this campaign and has been directly involved in as many strikes in his last ten appearances.
And in what was his first brace for Arsenal, he became the first former Chelsea player to score a brace against the west Londoners in the Premier League.
It took Arsenal just five minutes to take the lead, with Leandro Trossard firing home from close range for his 15th of the campaign.
Ben White doubled the hosts’ lead shortly after the break, with Havertz’s double making it 4-0.
And White then got on the scoresheet for a second time, as he expertly headed home after being spotted by Odegaard.
Arsenal are now three points clear at the top of the table, 30 points ahead of Chelsea.
