“At the end of the day, I’m a martial artist, and now that I’m good at these things, I definitely like them a lot more.” Hernández adds. “I hate losing, and when you have really good training partners, you lose a lot in the gym. Now I’m taking up martial arts.”
Hernández wants to win above all.
“Honestly, I just want to win,” he said. “The UFC is by far the hardest place to win, so winning is great. Ideally, I’d love to get all the knockouts and have a short night at the office, but a choke is also an ending.

Hernández’s attitude toward criticism is equally unwavering. Rejecting the idea of being underestimated, he remains focused on his goals.
“I really don’t care what people think of me,” he said. “Just go out there, do what I do and prove myself.”
The crucial question hanging over Hernández is whether he will rise to the occasion and defend his position in the Top 15, or whether Kopylov will seize his position. Hernandez understands that defeating Kopylov would set the stage for a busy year, fulfilling his desire for a busy fight schedule.
