The latest version of the Toyota Sienta was recently launched in Japan as a small van capable of carrying up to seven people and featuring adorable exterior styling. The automaker now has an ad that features a dog as cute as the vehicle in the ad.
The little pup in the ad has fluffy ears and a gray body with a white muzzle. In the ad, he comes running and turns into a green Sienta. A whole family then crowds inside.

Then we see the dog trotting down the road and back into the van. This time, the family loads the vehicle with gardening accessories.
However, this dog does not simply transform into Sienta. The next scene shows the pup having a picnic with the family. The dog is even kind enough to pick up a plastic water bottle rather than leave it as litter.
At the end of the announcement, a pug pulls on a leash to subdue our gray friend. Rather than look at the other dog, the ad star transforms into Sienta.
The new Sienta rides on the TNGA-B platform, which also sits under the latest Yaris. The entry-level powertrain is a 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine developing 90 horsepower (67 kilowatts) and 89 pound-feet (120 Newton-meters) of torque. A hybrid version of this mill has 118 hp (88 kW) and 107 lb-ft (145 Nm). Both front-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations are available.
Compared to the previous Sienta, the new one has the same length and width, but the roof is higher so adults can fit more comfortably. Customers can choose five- or seven-seat configurations. In models with a third row, the second row can tilt forward to allow occupants easier access to the rear.
Sienta prices start at 1.95 million yen ($13,500 at current exchange rates) for the entry-level X version with front-wheel drive and five seats. The most expensive category is the Hybrid Z with all-wheel drive and seven seats for 3.108 million yen ($21,530). There’s no sign of this little pickup coming to the United States.
