It seems promoter Eddie Hearn thinks there’s a hidden agenda for Tyson Fury’s latest rant on social media.
Earlier this week, Fury took to Instagram to call out his fellow heavyweights, despite being believed to be retired from boxing.
“I’m the fucking best,” Fury sang, “I’m the fucking best, I’m the best that ever was, the best that ever was, I’m the f***boss.
Fury then finished his song and added, “I’m the fucking boss.
“Heavyweight – I own these motherfuckers.”
While it’s not unusual for Fury to post outlandish statements on social media, Hearn believes the timing of this particular post is no coincidence and is simply a ploy to steal a light part of the upcoming rematch Anthony Joshua against Oleksandr Usyk.
“Obviously Anthony Joshua is fighting in a few weeks so he’s going to start playing again.” Hearn told IFL TV.
“But all eyes are now on ‘AJ’ in Saudi Arabia two weeks from now.”
In the first fight between Usyk and Joshua, the Ukrainian masterfully beat his British rival and ‘AJ’ was widely criticized for engaging in a boxing chess match with one of the most technically gifted boxers in the world. the planet.
As a result, Joshua insisted that in the rematch he would change tactics and use his size to his advantage, even calling himself the ‘comeback king’.
It seems, however, that Joshua may not have much of a height advantage anymore, as recent training footage has emerged of Usyk looking much bigger than in their previous clash.
Usyk is known for his quick feet and in-and-out style, but maybe having put on some extra muscle, he’s not looking to let the fight go far this time around.
