I’m wondering which HDMI inputs I should connect my Apple TV 4K and 2021 Blu-ray player to.
Anything other than number 3, from where the soundbar is plugged in.
how can I get all the sounds, especially Dobly Atmos, from the Apple TV 4K and Blu-ray player and play them on the Sono Arc?
Select ARC as audio output in the TV settings, and after that when you change the input on your TV, the TV will automatically send the audio from the input you chose through the HDMI cable to the Arc.
you need to have eARC for atmos, specs for this tv say eARC is coming via software update, but i don’t know when those specs were written so it might already have it. if they haven’t enabled eARC yet, you will be limited to 5.1 until they do, unless you buy additional hardware, which is more complicated and expensive, and will be a waste of time. once they are activated. You may also need to enable eARC in the TV settings, My LG has a setting to switch between ARC and eARC depending on what your audio hardware can handle.
I hate that sonos chose the name of a core feature as its name. pay attention to capital letters.
ARC or eARC – audio return channel, a feature of HDMI.
Arc – sound bar.
a little explanation on ARC if you want more info
HDMI ARC provides a two-way sound flow between a TV and a sound bar or other equipment. Here’s what you need to know.
