BOWLING GREEN, Ky. (WBKO) — The WKU men’s basketball team held an open practice for scouts on Thursday for the first time in more than two years. There were 15 NBA scouts present at the event. These teams included the Boston Celtics, New York Knicks, and Los Angeles Lakers.

The Hilltopper basketball team was able to present the revamped 2022 roster, including Kentucky transfer Dontaie Allen, Boise State transfer Emmanuel Akot and Indiana transfer Khristian Lander.

Over the years, WKU struggled with transfer issues and players were ineligible to start the season. Head coach Rick Stansbury has confirmed that all players, including Jordan Rawls, are eligible.

Stansbury was pleased with what he saw on the pitch Thursday. He says, “Listen, I love my whole team. Maybe some guys do some things better than others, but what I’m looking for this time of year is effort and attitude, and everyone gave me everything I needed. ‘he had. You can see the individual guys, you know, their abilities to make plays. Les Dave and JMar, you will always talk about it. Rawls can make games. Landers can make plays. I thought the young freshman was really good to have done nothing for a year. It was Fallou. So, you know, a lot of different people do different things, but overall I was happy with everyone.

The Hilltopper men’s and women’s basketball teams will begin their season at Topper Tipoff at Diddle Arena on October 18 at 6:30 p.m.
