The Ford Transit Connect is compact by American commercial van standards, so there is something beautiful about using the little space to create a very stylish little motorhome. The video offers a full tour of the platform.
On the outside, it looks a lot like any other Transit Connect you’d see on the road. Notable adjustments are a 100-watt solar panel and fan.
The magic is inside. There are now wood panels on the walls and laminate on the floor. The white and mint green color scheme gives the cabin a bright look.
On the driver’s side there is a long bench that doubles as a bed that unfolds to double the size of the area. It is 34 inches (86.36 centimeters) wide by 72 inches (182.9 centimeters) long. The cushions and bedding have not yet arrived to complete the construction of the vehicle.
With the rear doors open, the bed platform reveals a pair of 110-volt outlets at its base. There is also a sliding platform that could double as a table or food prep area.
A platform next to the bed serves as a bedside table. Also, if you open up the bottom section, there’s a tiny cassette toilet inside.
There is a small counter and sink with a six gallon tank for both soft and gray water. A magnetic hook allows the faucet to be extended outside and used as an outdoor shower. A drawer hides a small fridge / freezer.
A fantastic example of the intelligent use of space is in the front passenger seat. A custom-made divider here creates two levels of storage if no one needs to occupy this place.
