Sunrise sports journalist Mark Beretta is all smiles as he receives one of Australia’s highest honours: ‘Grateful and proud to wear the medal’
Mark Beretta couldn’t wipe the smile from his face on Tuesday as he received the Order of Australia medal outside Government House in Sydney.
The Sunrise sportscaster, 56, posted a photo gallery on Instagram celebrating the moment and told his followers what made the day even more special was that his parents were there with him.
‘Very lucky to share this day with my amazing mum and dad who have given me so much. Proud to wear the Order of Australia medal,” he wrote.

The father-of-two cut a dashing figure in the photos in a designer navy suit and tie with the medal pinned to his blazer.
Several of Mark’s most prominent followers were quick to send their congratulations.
Sunrise co-star Natalie Barr gushed “huge congratulations to Beretts”, while model Laura Csortan said it was an “incredible achievement” that Mark should be proud of.

Meanwhile, Channel 7’s The Morning Show page posted an applause emoji.
It comes after Mark revealed his biggest regret over his career in TV and sports commentary.
He told New Idea that he misses “family time in the morning” because of his early starts.
“Very lucky to be able to share this day with my amazing mom and dad who have given me so much,” wrote a proud Mark
Looking back, he wished he had spent more quality time at home with his children when they were younger.
“When the kids were little, they went to bed early. Now they stay up later and sleep, and you miss family time in the morning,” he said.
Despite this, Beretta has ‘no complaints’ about his work and is ‘very grateful’ to be in the position he finds himself in as it has given his family ‘tremendous benefits’.
Mark shares two children, Ava, 17, and Daniel, 14, with his wife, Rachel.
