Los Angeles police said they were investigating whether Kanye West was involved in the alleged battery.
Officers were called to Sunset Boulevard around 12:30 a.m. Wednesday after receiving reports of an incident, the LAPD confirmed to Sky News’ U.S. sister network, NBC News.
Westalso known by his rapper name Ye, was missing when police arrived.
The alleged victim, an unidentified man, told police that the American star had hit him in the face several times, a police spokesperson said.
Milo Yiannopoulos, West’s chief of staff at his clothing company Yeezy, told NBC News in a statement that the incident occurred after his wife Bianca Censori was allegedly “physically assaulted.”
“The attacker didn’t just hit her. He put his hands under her dress, directly on her body, he grabbed her waist, he spun her around, then he blew kisses at her.” , said Mr. Yiannopoulos.
“She was beaten and sexually assaulted.”
Police took an incident report from the person who filed the complaint against West, but did not release any details.

Although commonly confused with assault, a battery charge occurs when there is unlawful contact between the accused and the victim, according to the Old Bailey Solicitors website.
Whereas an assault occurs when a person intentionally or recklessly puts someone in fear that unlawful force will be inflicted on them.
