In response, Tiffiny explained what categorizes a binge eating disorder, stating how many contestants she met on The Biggest Loser Australia suffered from binge eating disorder.
Binge eating disorder (BED) is a mental health problem characterized by a loss of control when eating and regularly consuming a large amount of food over a short period of time.
Explaining how to identify binge eating disorder, Tiffany said: “Binge eating episodes are marked by a complete loss of control and have certain key characteristics.
“So you are excessively consuming a significantly larger amount of food than you would normally eat.
Responding to a fan who asked him to explain the difference between them, Tiffiny recalled his experience coaching contestants with binge eating disorder on The Biggest Loser.
“There’s an element of emotional distress, and it’s usually used to deal with negative emotions, so binge eating is really there as a coping mechanism.”
She then detailed her experiences with people suffering from binge eating disorder while working as a trainer on The Biggest Loser.
“I suffered from binge eating a lot on The Biggest Loser,” she explained.
“A lot of my candidates had binge eating disorder, they would go to the drive-thru, eat all the fast food, then they would go to a secret parking lot and they would eat and binge in the car and then throw the evidence away, so no one would never know.
