While Asus isn’t a brand listed among the top smartphone manufacturers around the world, when it comes to the online marketplace, it has been able to capture a decent share of the pie.
The Taiwanese company has not let any negativity affect the products they offer, and we have seen that the company has been able to produce good value smartphones and has also done a good job in rolling out updates in time timely.
The company was one of the few OEMs to roll out the stable Android 10 update for the Asus ZenFone 5Z last year, shortly after Google released the operating system.
After that, recently the Asus ZenFone 5 resumed the beta update for Android 10, hinting that the stable update is upon us. Surprisingly, according to an email, it was revealed that the Android 10 update will be the latest firmware update for the Asus ZenFone 5 / 5Z smartphones.
But, the email also mentioned that the Asus ZenFone 5 / 5Z will continue to receive bug fixes and security updates for some time to come. This is completely understandable, as the device comes with Android 8 Oreo out of the box and is on the way to receiving its second major operating system update.
And in accordance with the default update policy of any smartphone OEM, a smartphone can benefit from two major operating system upgrades. However, there is a positive response from one of the Asus moderators.
Responding to a request from a user, where the user asked to provide ZenUI 7 in addition to Android 10 himself, the moderator did not rule out the possibility and stated that:
We can still hope, but keep in mind that Samsung has sold millions of these phones and that their cost to launch a new Android is about the same as for us. I’m not saying it won’t happen, but don’t be surprised if it doesn’t.

While we can’t think of every word from moderators as the word from the company itself, it’s good enough to see that there is at least some hope of getting it.
And besides, following the example given by the user in the request, Samsung also made One UI 2.1 available for its Galaxy S9 2018 device with Android 10 above. So there is a possibility for the Asus ZenFone 5 / 5Z to get the ZenUI 7 in addition to Android 10.
