Lexus is preparing a major overhaul of its model lineup over the next two to three years and plans to add new nameplates to its existing lineup. Three electric models will launch in the United States by 2025, but long-standing models will not be abandoned. Instead, most of them will be completely renewed and Automotive News has a new report providing the first details on what’s to come.
The SUV segment will surely be more important for the Japanese luxury car maker and it wants to introduce a whole new generation of RX at some point next year. The brand’s best-selling crossover in the United States will run on Toyota’s global luxury platform and benefit from upgraded hybrid powertrains. More importantly, it will benefit from the new Lexus infotainment interface, as well as numerous improved safety and assistance systems.

The LX is also expected to arrive next year on Toyota’s GA-F architecture and sharing many components with the new Toyota Land Cruiser. The focus will be on improving ride quality and the wider range of safety systems available. It will be interesting to see which engines the new LX gets.
Last but not least, the redesigned GX will also switch to the GA-F frame body architecture and be significantly updated in terms of standard and optional technologies. Lexus will use Toyota’s latest hybrid powertrains to make it more powerful and more economical when it goes on sale in 2024, according to the report.
As for the UX crossover, it will be given a makeover in 2023 with likely the Lexus Interface infotainment system and other upgrades borrowed from the NX. Meanwhile, an all-electric crossover is expected to join its ICE and hybrid brethren next year.
