The very first thing you’ll do in NBA 2K22 is to choose between College Basketball or G League, but which one is better? We will tell you about it.
NBA 2K22 MyCareer is the start of an epic new story with less linear events that put players in control of their careers from the early stages of the story.
One of the key decisions of this game mode is whether to make the G League after high school or stick to the academic atmosphere and continue your career in college.
NBA 2K22 MyCareer: College or G League?
First off, let me make it clear that whichever one you choose, you will be able to make your way to the NBA. Choosing between the two options is more about learning passive skills and having the greatest opportunity to improve certain settings on your MyPlayer.
Benefits of the College:
- You’ll jump straight into a knockout tournament and earn additional badge points for winning the National Championship.
- Gain more fans by performing on a national stage and proving that you are a top prospect.
- Earn tournament attribute bonuses by attending workouts that teach you key skills for your build.
- Maintain Ameatur status, allowing you to sign with the G League after college.
Advantages of the G League:
- Earn a permanent 5% MyPoints Accelerator to speed up your MyPlayer upgrade process.
- Look for sponsorship opportunities on holidays to earn CV and start building your personal brand.
- Prepare for the league as you take on NBA-caliber players.
- Meet with the press to take control of your story and practice your interview skills.
Now which one is the best?
Going with College is the same traditional NBA 2K MyCareer experience, but Ultimate, since you can qualify for the G League and then be drafted for the NBA. So if you want to play all three levels of NBA 2K basketball, you have to choose College.
On the flip side, the G League is more like a shortcut that could lead you to glory early in the game, however, it might take you a bit longer to get into the NBA.
So if you want to get into the NBA as early as possible, you should go for college basketball and then skip the G League to be drafted for an NBA team, depending on your college performance. Although you would reach the NBA earlier this way, you will be starting your NBA season with pretty low stats, which means you will have to work really hard to progress.
On the other hand, if you want to start your NBA season with higher stats, we suggest you start with College, then move on to G League, then move on to NBA.
Now, if you still want higher stats in the NBA but don’t have time for the ultimate experience, go for the G League.
NBA 2K22 is now available on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, Stadia, and PC.
