PROVIDENCE (WPRI) — The annual Late Night Madness party rocked AMP on Saturday night, as Providence’s men’s and women’s basketball teams were announced in front of Friar fans.
The men’s team just completed a historic run to the Sweet 16, making this year’s festivities highly anticipated.
It’s a great feeling to be able to have the crowd, it’s been a few months since we’ve been here on the field in front of the fans and all that,” said graduate guard Jared Bynum. “It’s been a good experience with the guys and all that, so I’m looking forward to spending the rest of the year and playing on the pitch.”
“We had a really tough practice today and we were pretty aggressive trying to bring them together, it’s something that builds chemistry and something that builds camaraderie and that’s what it’s all about. “said PC men’s head coach Ed Cooley.
The men’s team will open their season with Mal Brown’s scrum on Oct. 15, and the women’s will open their season against Southern New Hampshire at Alumni Hall.
