The Terps will celebrate the 20th anniversary of the championship on Feb. 27 against Ohio State due to star player Juan Dixon’s coaching obligations today.
The Terps earned their second straight conference win with a game-high loss to Rutgers, 68-60, on Tuesday night. The backcourt duo of Fatts Russell and Eric Ayala were sensational, combining for 45 points on 15 of 29 shooting (10 of 17 3FG). Terrapin forward Qudus Wahab has scored double figures in consecutive games for the first time since the first two games of his career at Maryland earlier this season. He posted 11 points against Illinois, followed by a 10-point performance against Rutgers.
Maryland is one of five schools nationally to have won at least four games against ranked teams in each of the past three seasons (2018-21), joined by Kansas, Michigan State, Purdue, Iowa and Michigan.
