It’s been 26 years since The Rock made his WWE debut, and nothing has been the same. After debuting as Rocky Maivia, he underwent a character change and returned as The Rock. The Rock has been one of the most popular WWE Superstars of all time and also has many achievements.
He recently took to Twitter to share details of his first wrestling match. Johnson’s debut took place at the iconic Madison Square Garden, a dream for many. And everything changed that. He further joked that this young child would later become famous for carrying a fanny pack.
Wow 26 years ago 🤯
What a fateful night in Madison Square Garden to have my very first wrestling match for @wwe.
This big kid who was ready to be the hardest worker in the room would only become famous for carrying a fanny pack.
Seriously, what a grateful journey🙏🏾 https://t.co/5VoMB5qER0— Dwayne Johnson (@TheRock) November 17, 2022
The Rock is a 10-time World Champion, 2-time Intercontinental Champion, 5-time Tag Team Champion, 2000 Royal Rumble winner and also the 6th three-time WWE Champion. His accomplishments have known no bounds, and since moving to Hollywood, nothing has stopped him.
After debuting in 1996, The Rock stayed with the company until 2004, when he left. However, he often returned to WWE for segments, and each time he returned, audiences greeted him with a warm welcome.

DIVE DEEPER
I think my father told me this story once. It’s been a crazy journey, joining the WWF, becoming a villain character for a while, becoming a hero character for a while, betrayal at the Deadly Game, then fr hero, then movie star. I’m glad you had such an eventful life, Rock!

I remember it vividly but I’m completely opposed to the whole “26 years ago” part. I had no idea it was his first appearance, it’s kinda dope.

You are one of my biggest Rock inspirations, I am training myself to be a professional wrestler. Your philosophy on training, hard work and even life in general is very motivating. I found my anchor thanks to you. Thanks

I never would have thought back then that you were the face of WWE in the Attitude Era and becoming a box office attraction icon. What a trip you had.

Only won the Royal Rumble once in 2000…maybe it’s time to get a second one?

I’ve always appreciated that you honor your heritage as well as the local car wash you worked at as a teenager with your ring gear.
