Huawei sells the 2019 Y9 in China under the name of Enjoy 10 Plus. In early October 2019, the device was invited to try the Android 10-based EMUI 10 beta update in its home country, China.
Although Huawei is testing EMUI 10 on the Chinese variant of the Y9 2019, uncertainties about the availability of the operating system in other regions have continued to invade the interwebs, forcing the company to respond.
Initially, Huawei India revealed that the 2019 Y9 would not be updated to Android 10, but Huawei’s overall Twitter handle said otherwise – that the update is actually coming. Shortly after, it was later clarified that the Indian variant was the one to miss the update to Android 10.
The story is pretty much the same with the Huawei Nova 3 EMUI 10 update, which should also be ignored despite a Change.org petition that has drawn thousands of signatures.
On a more positive note, it looks like Huawei isn’t giving up on the devices yet. The duo are now receiving a new software update that installs the March 2020 security fixes based on Android Pie.
Where the Nova 3 gets it as EMUI 9.1.0.366 (C636E1R1P3) across Asia (Pacific)…
… The Y9 2019 uses the same patch as EMUI 9.1.0.264 (C185E2R1P1) in the Middle East.
Hopes Huawei Y9 2019 and Nova 3 EMUI 10 receive the latest security updates in March, which means it can take several days before everyone in the designated regions receives the new software.
