Fortnite is set to complete Chapter 3 about a year earlier than chapters normally end with a big final event called Fracture. This will kick off the start of Chapter 4, with a whole new map and a bunch of other changes coming to the game, the most recent rumor I heard was…motorbikes.
So what time is the Fortnite Chapter 3 Fracture event live?
That would be today, Saturday, December 3 at 4 p.m. ET. Other times:
- UK: 21:00 (GMT)
- Europe: 22:00 (CET)
- US West Coast: 1:00 p.m. PT
Chapter 4 should start sometime early the next morning (ET) after downtime, as far as we know.
Epic told players they had to log in 30 minutes before the event started, but unlike past “one-time events”, you can still join up to 40 minutes after the event started while it is still ongoing. This implies it can last up to 40 minutes, but it’s not entirely clear how that works whether you start the event from the beginning or join in the middle of a 40-minute running event. minutes. You can join a team of four with friends if you wish.
As to what the event makes of it is, which remains under wraps, and Epic is notoriously harsh on any leakers who say anything important about their events before they find out. The basics are that it’s going to deal with the recent chrome plague on the island, complete with chrome tornadoes to tear the place apart, all under the apparent direction of seasonal villain The Herald.
But unlike the other end-of-season events, this one is likely to destroy or reshape the map entirely, so we’ve got a brand new one, a brand new chapter signing. Last time the map flipped and the new map was underneath, but that clearly won’t happen again. Instead, Fortnite talked about many “realities” in which there are countless other islands, though the scope of Fortnite’s universal ambitions is still somewhat nebulous with its overarching storylines.
This seems like an event they’re highlighting more than usual, and it’s been a pretty solid period of revival for the game with renewed interest following the introduction of No Build mode during this chapter. Chapter 4 will also come with a big Creative Mode overhaul that will allow for a whole lot of editing with Unreal Engine 5 and more creative tools than ever before. Although it has been delayed until January 2023, according to Tim Sweeney, so it will not launch this weekend with the new chapter.
The teaser images and trailers didn’t show us much, so it’s time to show up at 4 PM ET and find out what’s going on. See you there.
