Hayley Williams came to the defense of Billie Eilish after the pop star revealed that the Internet was ruining her life.
Paramore singer showed hitmaker “Bad Guy” some love after Eilish’s interview with BBC Breakfast, in which she said that she had “completely” stopped reading the comments because online trolling was worse than ever.
“It’s weird, the cooler the things you do, the more people hate you. It’s crazy,” she said. “It’s much worse than it has ever been at the moment. I mean, it’s crazy that I’ve even read comments up to this point.”
“I should have stopped long ago,” added Eilish.
Williams defended Eilish in a deleted post since writing to Twitter, “Who has been mean to Billie on the Internet, I will absolutely beat someone a– all along.”
The message of support also follows the singer’s emotional speech at the Brit Awards 2020. When accepting his award for the best international female solo artist, Eilish told the crowd: “I felt very hated recently and when I was on stage in seeing you smile at me, it made me want to cry and I want to cry now. “
She was referring to the hatred she received after sweeping the four main categories at the Grammys 2020 and the release of the new James Bond theme song “No Time to Die”, which she co-wrote with her brother Finneas .
