Colts owner Jim Irsay is receiving treatment for a serious respiratory illness. team announced Tuesday.
Irsay, 64, is active on X (formerly Twitter), but he has not spoken publicly in weeks, prompting media inquiries about his availability. His illness will prevent him from playing in his personal band, which was scheduled to perform in Los Angeles this week, but he is receiving “excellent care and is looking forward to returning to the stage as soon as possible.”
The Colts provided no additional comment on Irsay’s medical condition, asking fans and media to “respect the privacy of Jim and his family during his recovery.”
Irsay has always been quick to speak after the season, often providing detailed commentary on his team, which recently closed out its 2023 campaign with a Week 18 loss to the Texans. If Indianapolis had won this game, it would have clinched a playoff spot.
