Many celebrities, including Justin Bieber, Snoop Dogg, Paris Hilton, and Tia Kofi, have embraced the world of the Metaverse.
justin bieber
Canadian singer Justin Bieber introduced a wave of young fans to new technologies in 2021 when he gave his first concert “inside the metaverse”.
Bieber hosted a free 30-minute concert on the virtual music platform, performing songs from his latest album, “Justice.”
While not a fully immersive metaverse experience, the concert gave people a taste of what popular events might look like in the near future.
Snoop Dogg
American rapper Snoop Dogg recreates his real-life mansion in Diamond Bar, California within “The Sandbox”, a virtual world that uses the Ethereum cryptocurrency to enable transactions.
The rapper has already made a land sale, giving fans the opportunity to live next to him in his metaverse, called the “Snoopverse.”
Paris Hilton
Last year, American media personality Paris Hilton built “Paris Hilton World”, a virtual world inside an online social gaming platform, Roblox.
In its magical world, visitors can transport themselves to an “immersive fairytale island” filled with “unicorns, dazzling rainbow rivers, and cotton candy forests.”
“For me, the metaverse is a place where you can do everything that you can do in real life in the digital world,” Hilton said. “Not everyone gets to experience that, so that’s what we’ve been working on together for the past year – giving them all my inspirations of what I want in this world.”
Stan Wawrinka
Swiss tennis player and three-time Grand Slam champion Stan Wawrinka hosts an ongoing competition in the world of the Metaverse.
In line with “Project Ballman”, Wawrinka has launched a collection of 6,200 non-fungible token (NFT) tennis players that owners can use to participate in the virtual tennis tournament.
Jacques-Paul
American boxer, entrepreneur and YouTuber Jake Paul has a home in the crypto-oriented metaverse space Bloktopia.
Paul has given away part of his virtual property in 2021, a prize worth $100,000 (£80,000).
“When I first discovered Bloktopia, I thought it was such a unique opportunity that I had to get involved,” Paul said. “The Reblok up for grabs is part of my home and my heritage in Bloktopia and whoever wins doesn’t just get real estate in Bloktopia, they get a piece of my real estate.”
Tia Kofi
British drag performer Tia Kofi entered the Metaverse earlier this year, as part of a collaboration with Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg.
Tia Kofi and two other drag acts; Blu Hydrangea and Adam All appeared in person on a catwalk at an event in London last September.
Harry and Meghan
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are in talks with an award-winning tech company to build their own world in the virtual universe, according to ‘The Mirror’.
Meghan and Harry could appear in their metaverse as digital avatars of themselves to hold business meetings or make special appearances.
“Meghan and Harry believe they will have an even greater ability to spread their message if they are present in the virtual world as well as the physical world,” a spokesperson said. “They’ve spoken to a variety of experts and the view is that this is the next step in making their brand truly global.”
