She may have left The Block empty-handed, but Sharon Johal has nothing but love for the winning team of Omar Slaimankhel and Oz Malik.
After Sunday’s disastrous auction, the former Neighbors star shared a photo on Instagram of herself spending time with Sydney’s pals and their families.
She posed with the group in a crowded living room as Oz smoked with a shisha pipe in the corner. In the caption, she paid tribute to her co-stars while reflecting on her difficult journey on Channel Nine’s renovation show.

‘It’s a WRAP!’ she wrote. “Of course it wasn’t the outcome we all hoped for. But like my dad always says ‘it’s going to be ooooookk’, and I’m confident it will be, no matter what.
“We always talk about ‘big fries’, ‘little fries’ and as much as this experience felt like ‘big fries’ at the time, especially in the sleep-deprived, high-pressure, anxious space that is. In the scheme of things, they really are “little fries”.
Sharon paid a special tribute to winners Omar and Oz, who sold their reno for a record $5,666,666, walking away with $1.6 million in prize money.

‘We congratulate the boys on their incredible win and what it ultimately means for their families, the charity that is the real winner here, our friends on @theblock who have really been through this for which we are forever linked, our supporters, our suppliers, our property team, trades, production and crew to get through this juggernaut,” Sharon continued.
“Especially, our family on whose shoulders we stand.”
Sharon then addressed the “mean villain” given to her and her husband Ankur Dogra, insisting that the couple were nothing but genuine.
“It’s no secret that we’ve had a hard trot on and off the show for the past nine months. We’ve been honest and raw about it,” she wrote.

“It’s no secret that we’ve had a hard trot on and off the show for the past nine months. We were honest and raw about it,” she wrote.
“Maybe we should have ‘played the game’ better and rigged it, demiced it or sucked it up.” But we didn’t. We kept it real, called it out, cried when it hurt, and we all gave ourselves to the experience.
“You haven’t seen it all and most of you know that and have supported us through it all and for that we will always be grateful to you for helping us through this.”
The actress also took a subtle look at their editing and the scrutiny that followed.
“We certainly made mistakes and could have done things differently, been better prepared for sure – but what we know for sure is that we learned a lot about the industry, the people and ourselves at the course of this experience and we know who we are, and we are good with it,” she said.
“You are welcome for notes and clickbait.”

She continued, “We will continue to push, try and stay positive to move forward (most of these post auction photos) and honor this beautiful home for what it is worth.
“You will have to excuse me as I continue to brag about Gunyah, for the spirit that inhabits him as we pass the baton to the prospective buyer. It was a gift and for us and obviously, the gift that keeps on giving.
“I am proud of my soul mate. If that wasn’t an example of ultimate, true resilience for us, I don’t know what is. The truth is we were never going to give up. And we never will.

The couple are moving to their family farm in South Australia after failing to find a buyer for their Macedon Ranges renovation in Sunday’s finale.
‘We need a vacation. We are going to one hundred per cent take a break and then reassess what we want to do next year,’ Sharon told Daily Mail Australia.
“I think what we’re going to try to do is go back to South Australia, where we’re from, and hang out on the family farm in the vineyards and have a good time.”
Sharon and Ankur failed to attract a bidder on the $4.08million reserve for their Gisborne home, with the highest bid being just $4,075,000.
“I grew up on a farm and love it, and my future will always be on a farm. We’re just figuring out when,” she added.
Sharon revealed the couple will “probably try for a baby next year and then when we have a little bigger family we’ll move 100 per cent to the farm full time”.

During the season, they were forced to deal with the drama surrounding their builders and faced a $53,000 budget blowout.
The pair took the defeat in their stride, with Sharon saying “it could have been a lot worse”. They expect their house to find a buyer in the coming months.
