Angelina Jolie can be very intimidating, says Elizabeth Moss, as she reflects on her time working with her on Girl interrupted in 1999.
In a conversation with Let’s talk off camera With Kelly Ripa, the Mad Men alum revealed the power dynamics while filming the psychological drama.
“There were two types of camps. There was the Winona Ryder camp and the Angelina Jolie camp,” The veil The star said who was a teenager at the time.
The camps were born from the on-screen clash between the two best hitters. “I was in the Winona Ryder camp and the Angelina Jolie camp was really cool. They were really cool girls,” she shared.
Grateful, Elizabeth said, “I was so intimidated by Angelina Jolie’s camp. I had no idea that I would ever be able to go to that camp. It was so cool. It was all cool girls.”
After years of filming the film, the 41-year-old said her perception of Angelina changed after having conversations with her. But she admitted at the time that his aura was extremely intimidating.
“I’ve spoken to Angelina since, and she’s lovely, but at the time it was incredibly intimidating,” noting her addition in his camp, “I’ve never spoken about it and I’m sure she doesn’t. ‘wouldn’t have talked about it anyway, I have no idea what I was talking about.’
“But I just wasn’t – I definitely wasn’t cool enough to be in his camp.”
