Why Aussies want Deborah Knight to replace Tracy Grimshaw on A Current Affair – NOT Ally Langdon – as Nine prepares to announce new host any day now
Allison Langdon may be the favorite to replace Tracy Grimshaw as host of A Current Affair, but it looks like Deborah Knight is the people’s choice.
Viewers are calling on the veteran 2GB and Nine News presenter, 49, to take over, describing her as “professional”, “refreshing” and “natural”.
“Deb Knight is so stunning and professional. Every time she comes it’s so refreshing,’ a fan wrote on Facebook.

Grimshaw will soon be leaving A Current Affair after 17 years hosting the popular current affairs show
Langdon was absent from the Today show for the sixth day in a row on Thursday, fueling rumors that Nine is set to announce its breakfast-to-primetime shift.
Industry sources say the 43-year-old is the favorite to replace Grimshaw on A Current Affair, but it’s unclear who will take her place on Today.
Nine executives are said to be trying out different co-presenters with Karl Stefanovic, including former US correspondent Amelia Adams and 60 Minutes reporter Sarah Abo.

Langdon has not been mentioned on air since she last hosted Today, which was Wednesday, November 2.
She is said to want to move to A Current Affair because the working hours are easier as a working mother.
While Nine hasn’t made an announcement regarding ACA’s new host, it’s believed the network is only considering applicants from within its own ranks.

This rules out The Project host Carrie Bickmore, who is leaving Channel 10 at the end of this month and was previously linked to the starring role.
If Langdon gets the job, she can add her name to an illustrious list that includes broadcast titans like Ray Martin, Mike Munro and Jana Wendt.
Coincidentally, her husband Mike Willesee Jr is the son of late former ACA great Mike Willesee who hosted the show’s first three seasons and, later, five more.
