Arsenal appear to be in store for another busy summer at the Emirates with the club ready to spend money again.
The Gunners have spent almost £600m on new players since Mikel Arteta’s appointment in 2019 – with more than £250m spent in 2023 alone.
It is understood that the club will look to generate funds by selling a number of players in the upcoming transfer window, as Arsenal look to capitalize on their progress.
A striker, a winger and a central midfielder would be the main priorities, with Wolves’ Pedro Neto the main target in the wide position.
talkSPORT reported in February that Wolves would not mind a summer departure, with Arsenal a keen admirer.
Elsewhere, Real Sociedad’s Martin Zubimendi has been mentioned as a potential partner for Declan Rice in midfield, with the 25-year-old boasting a £51.3 million release clause.
And although Arsenal are fans of Newcastle center forward Alexander Isak, the Magpies are unlikely to sell, with RB Leipzig’s Benjamin Sesko and Sporting Lisbon’s Victor Gyokeres also looking up.
But with Sesko five years younger than Gyokeres, and available for £42.8m due to his buyout clause compared to the Sweden international’s £85m asking price, he could be considered the ideal choice.
But a number of fringe players will first have to make way for the Gunners to meet financial regulations.
Striker Eddie Nketiah is behind Kai Havertz and Gabriel Jesus in the striking order, claiming the Crystal Palace target could fetch up to £30million.
The outlet also said that back-up goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale could be fired and that Arsenal are expected to turn David Raya’s loan spell at Brentford into a permanent stay.
Hale End graduates Emile Smith Rowe and Reiss Nelson are said to face uncertain futures but, surprisingly, it has been said that Leandro Trossard could potentially leave.
Trossard, who only joined Arsenal from Brighton last January, has scored 13 goals this season, with only Bukayo Saka scoring more.
All signs point to an eventful summer in north London, which could see Arteta’s line-up change dramatically next season.
Here, talkSPORT.com takes a look at how Arsenal could start if they land three of their top targets.
Raya, who has made the number one jersey his own since being ousted from Ramsdale in the fifth matchweek of the season, would be between the sticks.
Natural central defender Ben White would then retain his place at right-back to accommodate the formidable partnership between Gabriel and William Saliba at the heart of the defence.
Forgotten Arsenal star Jurrien Timber would then be the inverted left-back as he looks to make an impact following his anterior cruciate ligament injury.
Recruited from Ajax last summer, the Dutchman started in the Community Shield and the league’s opening match before suffering a knee knock.
Zubimendi would then be deployed as the sole defensive midfielder – in place of Jorginho and Thomas Partey.
This would see Rice play a roaming box-to-box role alongside skipper Martin Odegaard.
Bukayo Saka would start on the right wing, where he would be the only Arsenal striker from this season to retain his place.
Gabriel Martinelli, who often plays on the opposite flank, should be content with a place on the bench, replaced by Neto.
Meanwhile, Havertz and Jesus would also lose a starting spot if Sesko gets there, with Arteta wanting a physical striker to lead the line.
