Apple today released the second beta of an upcoming macOS Sonoma 14.5 update to public beta testers, allowing non-developers to test the software before launch. The public beta comes two weeks after Apple released the first public beta.

Beta testers can sign up through the Software Update section of the System Settings app. Under Beta Updates, simply enable Sonoma Public Beta. Note that you must register to participate on Apple’s beta testing website.

So far, no new features have been found in the ‌macOS Sonoma‌ 14.5 developer beta builds, and Apple hasn’t listed any additions in its release notes. It’s likely that the update will focus on bug fixes and other small improvements under the hood.
