Jolie claims Pitt’s lawsuit is an attempt to control and burden her financially
Angelina Jolie has accused her ex-husband Brad Pitt, 60, of “financially draining” her amid their ongoing legal dispute over a winery they co-own.
The couple has been embroiled in this legal battle since their separation in 2016.
In recently filed court documents obtained by DailyMail.com, Jolie expressed the difficulty of defending herself against Pitt’s lawsuit, which she perceives as an attempt to control and burden her financially.
Jolie claims the deal fell through due to Pitt’s insistence on a non-disclosure agreement (NDA) to cover up his alleged history of physical and emotional abuse toward her and their family.
A source close to the matter told the Daily Mail: “Angie says Brad is bleeding her dry – but it looks like she wants to bleed him dry.”
The source added that despite Jolie’s apparent “vindictiveness,” Pitt has been supportive and has made efforts to help her financially.
Initially, Pitt had expressed interest in buying out Jolie’s stake in the winery in order to keep her “in the family.” However, the deal fell through due to disagreements.
Pitt then accused Jolie of violating their purchase agreement when she sold her 50% stake in Château Miraval to Russian oligarch Yuri Shefler in 2021 without his consent.
Jolie claims Pitt’s demands are why the earlier offer to sell the winery to her for $54 million fell through.
