There is at least one more car that we have not seen as Aston Martin is about to unveil a new model, unless we have in fact three to judge by the sticker used to announce that ‘there would be a live stream on YouTube.
The identity of the vehicles remains shrouded in mystery, but Aston Martin “will celebrate an icon and usher in a new era.” Racing Point F1 Team owner, Lawrence Stroll, Aston Martin president and group CEO, Dr. Andy Palmer, as well as YouTuber Mr JWW will take care of the festivities to “unveil the latest edition of the Aston Martin range”.
One of the hashtags used is # V12Speedster, which can only mean that the eponymous car teased at the start of the year will be revealed today. One of the two remaining cars could be the Vantage Roadster which debuted almost a month ago, while the other is most likely the DBX SUV.
We will certainly not see anything related to Lagonda because the all-electric models have been put on hold. The company’s EV ambitions include the Rapide E, but it has also been delayed. Electrification is still on the agenda for the people of Gaydon, as a newly developed V6 hybrid powertrain will be launched in 2022 and will power a variety of models.
The Valkyrie is still on track for a release in the second half of this year and will be followed by the warmer AMR Pro version in 2021. These are the last two cars developed by Aston Martin in collaboration with Red Bull Racing as link. ends after the 2020 Formula 1 season. This means that RBR will not be involved in the development of the next Valhalla.
