Taylor Swift, Celine Dion, Adele, Harry Styles and others were honored by the Recording Industry Association as part of a new class of Gold and Platinum winners for the month.
Taylor earned seven new honors this month. His Still and Folklore the albums are now Platinum and Double Platinum respectively. Her songs “Willow”, “Cardigan”, “Exile” and “The 1” all achieved Platinum status, while “Lover” is three times Platinum.
Céline wins three new awards, with her album Let’s talk about love achieve Diamond certification after being 11 times Platinum, while These are special times earned its sixth Platinum status. Her song “My Heart Will Go On” was four times Platinum.
Adele won several nods in this latest roundup, with her song ‘Easy On Me’ going four times platinum, while ‘I Drink Wine’ went gold.
As for Harry, his song “She” went Platinum.
justin bieber also received acclaim from the RIAA, with his song “Off My Face” achieving gold status.
Shakira won several new honours, with her songs “Whenever, Wherever” and “Underneath Your Clothes” twice Platinum and Gold respectively. Her 2001 album Laundry service was also certified four times Platinum.
The RIAA also sent James Bay some love after crowning his 2014 hit “Let It Go” six times Platinum; his 2013 song “Need the Sun to Break” is certified Gold.
Bruce Springsteen won accolade, with their 1988 song “My Hometown” eventually achieving Platinum status.
Another returning artist who won a big honor was Billy Joelwith his album the stranger have achieved Diamond status after being Platinum 11 times.
The RIAA also praised Jason Mrazwith his songs “You and I Both” and “The Remedy (I Won’t Give Up)” which won gold and platinum honors respectively.
