It’s fair to say that Arsenal midfielder Fabio Vieira had a training session to forget on Wednesday afternoon.
The 22-year-old joined the Gunners from Porto in the summer but has found playing time limited so far.
Vieira was in attendance as Mikel Arteta’s side prepared for their Europa League clash with Bodo/Glimt on Thursday.
He took part in a rondo session with some of his teammates, including Martin Odegaard, Gabriel Martinelli and Cedric Soares.
The Portugal Under-21 international was the man in the middle with Eddie Nketiah, as he looked to keep the ball from reaching another Arsenal player.
However, in a clip posted online, Vieira can be seen taking a punch in the face after his Portuguese teammate Cédric kicked the ball.
The incident caught the attention of everyone involved, and none more so than Gabriel Martinelli, who could be seen in hysterics after the drama.
It went from bad to worse for Vieira, after he limped out of training later on, appearing to be in pain after being caught with his right foot by one of his teammates during the session.
The Portuguese star was expected to start for the visit of the Norwegian champions.
Manager Mikel Arteta therefore hopes that the blow is not serious.
Vieira arrived at Arsenal in the summer with a foot injury, having suffered a minor fracture while on international duty in June.
The Gunners will hope his latest move is nothing serious as he looks to impress for his side.
