Of all the NBA storylines that have been front and center nationally this week with the start of training camps, the Philadelphia 76ers situation was not on anyone’s shortlist.
You had the messy and uncomfortable saga of Robert Sarver in Phoenix, the (equally messy and uncomfortable) Ime Udoka controversy in Boston, the Lakers and their Russell Westbrook dilemma, the Nets nothing to see here and their unexpected restart after the trade of Kevin Durant asks Brooklyn. Aside from James Harden’s (facetious) statement that he lost 100 pounds in the offseason, there wouldn’t be much to say with Philly before the games start.
Or so we thought.
Then came Thursday, as I was working from home after spending the last few days in Laker Land and decided to watch NBA TV’s ‘Real Training Camp’ series which featured the Sixers’ camp in Charleston, SC The league covers a new camp every day, with mics and cameras capturing all the practice in ways we’ve never seen before.
