It all started from a tweet highlighting how the singer used the US Open incident to portray the injustice women face. The Man from Swift’s seventh album took pains to highlight how men enjoy different privileges. Therefore, joining the dots, a London author wrote, “Serena was criticized for her reaction in the US Open final, even though men who reacted worse in the past were simply referred to as ‘passionate’.”

The way that baseless first paragraph was regurgitated by casual fans and non-tennis fans alike is infuriating. For a great musician to jump on the bandwagon and promote it to millions of people is irresponsible.

While the other support provider mentioned some of the previous cases which were handled similarly to the 23 times Grand Slam champion. “Tbf McEnroe was considered an asshole for collapsing at Wimbledon. Nick Kyrgios is widely hated. Serena’s outburst was unreasonable because her coach admitted to coaching her in the middle of the game?? It’s not the first time she’s done this too (USO vs Clijsters ).”

Williams got embroiled in an argument with the chair umpire when he was charged with coaching. She refused to follow coach Patrick Mouratoglou’s instructions during the final clash with Naomi Osaka. In addition, she raised allegations of sexism against the referee for giving her a penalty.
DIVE DEEPER
Although Mouratoglou later admitted to coaching Williams from the box, he claimed that Williams did not seem to notice his gestures. Furthermore, he pointed out that Osaka’s coach was indulging in similar activities.
The other side of the debate
There were also those who found the tweet factual. Speaking of which, even 12-time Grand Slam champion Billie Jean King backed Williams’ claims and thanked her for pointing out the sexist behavior.
Here’s how the other half responded. “Highlighting sexism via ‘The Man’ MV. Wow. Stemming.”
“Queens support queens. That’s it perioddt. »
“She has to keep a diary of all these things. I would never have put this together.
“I mean, not really a Swiftie or anything like that, but RESPECT!!!”
“This fucking scene.”
“I can’t even begin to describe how AMAZING TAYLOR ALISON SWIFT IS.”
“Wow, I was thinking the same thing, like my life would be so much better if I was a guy who does what he wants when he wants and no one can ever criticize him, man that’s sad.”
