The NBA’s 2020 No. 1 pick Anthony Edwards of the Minnesota Timberwolves has shared some of his lofty long-term goals.
The Ant-Man wants to be the face of the league in five years. He aspires to multiple MVP achievements, as well as an NBA championship ring. Feats that no one in the Minnesota Timberwolves organization has ever accomplished outside of Kevin Garnett and his MVP season.

“I want to be an All-Star. I want to go far in the playoffs, definitely after the first round. In five years, I want to be the face of the league and have a few MVPs by then and have a ring. In five years, I would expect to go to the finals for sure,” says Edwards.
The reviews are already lyrical
Questions sometimes arise if all this bravado is deserved. We can say yes, but his swagger is part of the reason we can’t take our eyes off the 21-year-old Timberwolves wing.
He was a natural as “Kermit,” the antagonist of Juancho Hernangomez’s Bo Cruz in Netflix’s “Hustle.” That’s why, after a second campaign where he averaged 21.3 points per game and helped lead Minnesota back to the playoffs, everyone wants to see what’s next for Edwards.
Anthony Edwards definitely lived up to the hype 🔥

The Ant-Man is a player whose combination of speed, strength, and sheer talent helps to become a valuable asset to the nation of wolves. And with the team adding complementary pieces to continue developing the pack, the initial goal of a deep playoff run for the team, which Edwards says is in sight for the coming season, may well be possible.
Putting Gobert with Karl-Anthony Towns on the front line, with Edwards entering his third year and ready for a jump, there will be plenty of eyes on the Timberwolves this season.
Agree or not agree?
He is not lacking in confidence and has shown his potential to innovate and reach new heights, as proven by his performances over the past two seasons.
Cracking the All-Star from five in the West could be Herculean, as the likes of LeBron James, Stephen Curry and Nikola Jokic are anything but locks on getting starting spots. But if Andrew Wiggins can do it, why not Edwards?
In a Minnesota sports world that currently includes Justin Jefferson and Kirill Kaprizov, Anthony Edwards might just become the most exciting young star living his early 20s in the Twin Cities. The future is bright for Timberwolves fans.
Skill, competitiveness and athleticism all blended together for one undeniable truth; everyone really loves Anthony Edwards.
