For years, the Samsung Notes app practically sat on my phone on sleep. sometimes used for one or two shopping lists, until I discovered its full potential. Not only is the Notes app an extremely handy tool to have in the palm of your hand, it’s also extremely user-friendly and it’s honestly a pleasure to use.
Here are nine tips to help you get the most out of your Samsung Notes app.
1. Import your PDFs
One of my all-time favorite features of the Notes app is the ability to import my PDFs. Once your PDFs are imported into Notes, you can organize them, draw on them, highlight them and even rearrange or delete their pages! This is extremely handy if you have a PDF textbook or a ton of eBooks that you need for reading or taking notes.
To import a PDF into your Notes application, make sure you are on the All remarks screen, then go to the small + PDF icon. Then just select the PDF or PDFs you want to import and then tap Made.
If you choose to import multiple PDF files at the same time, they will be saved as one note. To keep PDFs as separate notes, import them one by one.
2. Reorganize your notes pages
One of the latest features added to the Notes app is the ability to rearrange your notes with the page sorter. This feature allows you to add, delete, copy and move the pages of your notes quickly and easily. Moreover, you can also use this feature on your PDFs.
To access the Page Sorter feature, open your note or PDF, then head to the three dot menu option in the top right corner. From there select Sort pages.
Each page of the note or PDF will now have its own little ellipse in the lower right corner. Tap it to add, copy, cut, delete or delete the page. Pages can also be moved with a long press. Just select the page you want to move, press and hold your finger, then drag the page to where you want it.
To copy, share, or delete multiple pages at the same time, tap Edit then select the pages you have chosen. Then press either Copy, To share, or Wipe off from the bottom of your screen.
3. Create folders
When you start to use your Notes application a little more, folders make it easier to organize your notes.
To create a folder on your Samsung Notes app, head to the menu icon in the top left corner of your screen, then select Files.
On the Folders page, tap the ellipsis in the upper right corner and select Create the folder. Give your folder a name and color it, and once created, you’ll see it added to the top of your Folders page.
To add a pre-existing note to a new or existing record, go to All remarks then long press the note you want to move. At the bottom of your screen, you will see the option to move the note. Tap Move then select a pre-existing folder or press + Create a folder.
To add a new note to a folder, tap the gray Folders icon below the title and select the destination folder.
4. Share your notes in a variety of formats
Notes you create in the Notes app can be shared in multiple formats, including Word document, PowerPoint presentation, PDF file, Samsung Notes file, image file, or text file.
To share a note, you can long press the note in a folder or the All remarks screen and press To share, or open the note and head to the ellipsis in the upper right corner, then press To share.
Another great way to organize and find your notes is to give them hashtags. Hashtags can be used to group notes by category or topic and can also be used to highlight keywords.
To add a hashtag to an open note, head to the ellipsis in the upper right corner and select Add tags. Type the tags you want to use, and then tap To safeguard.
You can view all the notes listed under a certain tag by heading to the menu icon in the left corner of the All remarks screen, then pressing # Keywords.
To search for a note, tap the search icon at the top of your screen and start typing your hashtag. Recent tags will appear below the search bar to help you find recently tagged notes faster.
6. Sync notes with Microsoft OneNote
If you regularly use Microsoft apps like OneNote or Outlook, it’s worth syncing your notes with your Microsoft OneNote account.
To sync your Samsung Notes with Microsoft OneNote, tap the menu icon in the top left corner of your screen, then open Settings by tapping the gear icon.
From there you will see the option to Sync with Microsoft OneNote. You will now be able to access all your notes in Microsoft OneNote on any device
Typing notes on a small phone screen can be quite frustrating. While there isn’t much you can do regarding your screen size, what you can do is move the Notes toolbar while you write to give yourself more space and space. visibility.
To move the toolbar, just press and hold, then drag it to another position on the screen.
8. Lock your private notes
Locking your notes can be extremely useful, especially if you like to write down PIN codes or passwords that you always forget, throw a surprise party, or if you just value your privacy and like to lock your photos and documents.
Once locked, only your note title is visible from the All Notes screen, and users will need to unlock the note using a PIN or fingerprint before they can access it. it contains.
To lock a note, open it, then head to the ellipsis in the upper right corner. Faucet, Lock. If this is your first time locking a note, you will be asked to enter a password and confirm if you want to use your fingerprint. Once you follow these steps, you will be able to lock notes with just one click.
To open a locked note, tap it and enter your password or use your fingerprint.
To permanently unlock the note, head to the ellipsis again and this time tap To open. You will be prompted to verify your identity one last time, then your note will be unlocked. For security reasons, Samsung does not allow screenshots of locked notes.
9. Use page note templates
Finally, did you know that there are dozens of great note templates available in the Notes app? That’s right, you can turn a page or all of the pages in a note into a ruled page, grid, bullet journal, list, or even a calendar. There is also the option to upload your own image as a template if you have designed your own.
To use a template, open a new or existing note and make sure you’re in edit mode by tapping the pen and paper icon in the top menu. Next, tap the ellipsis in the top right corner and select Page template.
From there, select the template you want to use and then select Apply to all pages if you want to apply the template to the whole document.
Take notes like a pro with Samsung Notes
