If you are already accustomed to using Co-pilot, you may like this news: Microsoft has already released a specific Copilot app for Android devices. This way, it will no longer be necessary to use Bing to access the Microsoft Assistant.
Its launch was quiet, so much so that we only learned of its existence a week later. However, it is only available for Android for now. iOS users will need to wait a little longeralthough we don’t know exactly when.
When you take a closer look at the Copilot app, you will see that it does not differ much from ChatGPT. Thanks to the application, you will be able to do the same things as with Copilot via Bing: generate images with DALL-E, write emails or other documents, etc. Let’s not forget that it also includes free access to GPT-4, which we can use in ChatGPT but paying for its Plus version.
The launch of this application took place a month after Microsoft officially changed the name of Cat Bing to the co-pilot. Redmond launched its AI initiative earlier this year and integrated it with Bing, its search engine. Now, Microsoft has completely dropped the Bing Chat name to make Copilot a comparable experience to ChatGPT (it even has its own website).
What’s next for Microsoft? Just like in OpenAI, it looks like it will be about app development for Copilot. You will also have to wait for the release of Copilot on iOS. However, this does not mean that we cannot use it on our iPhones or iPads: we just have to access it through the Bing application, available in the App Store.
