A trio of Ubisoft and PlayStation Studios devs get caught publicly criticizing Elden Ring performance, user experience and quest design. It all started with a tweet from Ubisoft UX director Ahmed Salama, who has since locked his Twitter profile, complaining that Elden Ring’s metascore of 97 is “proof” that critics “don’t care about the game.” ‘UX of the game’. Rebecca Fernandez O’Shea, graphics programmer at Sony-owned Nixxes Software, chimed in and suggested that reviewers also didn’t care about Elden Ring’s graphics, stability, and PC performance. Blake Rebouche, senior quest designer of Horizon Forbidden West, whose profile is also locked, joined his peers and criticized the quest design of Elden Ring.
Elden Ring performance issues have been widely reported
The aforementioned tweets ended up upsetting Elden Ring fans, but a number of social media users have defended the developers, arguing that they are allowed to voice their opinions about a game like anyone else. . Jumping to O’Shea’s defense, John Linneman of Digital Foundry said FromSoftware’s technology was “flawed” and that “almost all versions” of Elden Ring had “serious performance issues”.
No, I cover tech for a living and Elden Ring falls short. It’s my favorite open-world game of all time, but the engine has some serious issues. The frame rate is choppy on every platform. It deserves a review.

Opinion: Social media has struck again
Zarmena writes… A long time ago, I invoked quite a bit of backlash for giving The Last of Us (2013) an 8/10, deducting one point for the janky AI. I know how it goes. While I can’t speak for Salama and Rebouche, O’Shea made a very valid point. Elden Ring’s performance issues have been widely reported since launch, prompting a response and even an apology from FromSoftware itself. To accuse it of being “salty” is extremely stupid.
In other news, the critically acclaimed Paradise Killer is heading to PS5 and PS4, and Babylon’s Fall is officially the lowest-rated console exclusive to PS5.
