Eccentric millionaire Danny Wallis saves The Block’s 2022 season by spending $14 million on auction day
Eccentric millionaire Danny Wallis has once again saved the day on The Block by buying three renovated properties for a staggering $14 million.
The Melbourne-based IT entrepreneur was the sole buyer at this year’s bulk auction and bought the property from winner Omar and Oz for a jaw-dropping $5.6 million.
Danny also paid $4.1 million for Tom and Sarah Jane’s home and $4.249 million for Rachel and Ryan.

However, Danny refused to buy Ankur and Sharon’s or Dylan and Jenny’s house – the properties not selling.
Danny reflected on his expensive purchases and said he thought he overpaid for Omar and Oz’s property, but got the other two for a bargain.
His purchases mark the third year in a row that Danny has saved Block’s competitors by spending big at auction.

He bought three homes last year for a total of $12.25 million.
Danny is a familiar face at The Block auctions. In 2020, he made an offer on all five properties and bought Mitch and Mark’s for $3.374 million.
He also purchased one of the properties during the 2012 season for $1.4 million.
Danny also paid $4.1 million for Tom and Sarah Jane’s home and $4.249 million for Rachel and Ryan.
However, some argued Danny had worn down his welcome, with many fans slamming his “boring” bidding style in Sunday’s finale after he suspended the auction as he sought “advice” from his dog.
‘Do the folks at #theblock know that the whole ‘Danny’ thing takes all the credibility out of this show?!’ one person wrote on Twitter.
“How can anyone honestly respect Danny,” asked another, while another replied, “Danny suuuuuucks.”
