According to the Sun, Taylor Swift is engaged to her boyfriend Joe Alwyn.
The outlet claims the actor popped the question months ago, but the two only “told” their inner circle.
“Basically immediate family and very old trusted friends,” the source said. “Everyone is also sworn to secrecy.”
The insider further alleged that Swift only wore her “beautiful ring” in private.
“Again, only a handful of people know the details of the wedding and Taylor hasn’t even told some of her team members about the engagement,” the source continued.
“They want their love to stay off the cameras as much as possible. It’s just for them. And if and when they do exchange vows, there’s sure to be no Vogue, Rolling Stone or Hello! reviews there. It will be simple and elegant – like them.
Page Six has reached out to reps for Swift and Alwyn for comment.
In April, Alwyn addressed rumors he had secretly proposed to Swift in an interview with WSJ. Magazine.
“If I had a pound every time I think I was told I was engaged, I’d have a lot of pound coins,” he said at the time.
“I mean, the truth is if the answer was yes, I wouldn’t say, and if the answer was no, I wouldn’t say.”
In February, Life & Style was the first outlet to report that Swift and Alwyn were engaged.
While Swift, 32, and Alwyn, 31, have remained notoriously private as a couple since their first affair in 2017, this is certainly not the first time there have been reports of an engagement.
In January 2020, Swift herself fueled the rumor mill with what looked like a large diamond ring on her left ring finger in her Netflix documentary, “Miss Americana.”
“I’m aware that people want to know more about that side of things,” Alwyn told Vogue in 2018. talk about work.”
However, Swift then brought Alwyn into his work: He helped co-write two tracks from his 2020 “Folklore” album – “Exile” and “Betty” – under the pseudonym William Bowery, and also contributed tracks “evermore” and “Champagne Problems” on sister to “Folklore” album, “Forever.”
In her acceptance speech at the 2021 Grammy Awards, Swift thanked Alwyn, saying, “Joe, who’s the first person I play every song I write to,” before continuing, “And I’ve had the best time writing songs with you in quarantine.”
In November 2020, Swift said no less an authority on the pressures of sustaining a life in the public eye than Paul McCartney that “being in the relationship that I’m in now, I’ve definitely made decisions that have made that my life is more like a real life and less like a story to be commented on in the tabloids.
Earlier in the interview, she said, “I can’t control if there will be some weird fake headline about us in the news tomorrow.”
