“I actually connected with the character in so many ways, from her making new friends in unconventional places, and feeling a bit isolated and misunderstood at times,” Selena Gomez told Deadline’s Crew Call. about what drew her to the role of Mabel. Mora in Hulu Only murders in the building.

Said Hoffman of landing Gomez as Charles Haden-Savage’s direct comedy wife and Steve Martin and Martin Short’s Oliver Putnam: “The show is built on where the classic meets the modern.”

Hoffman tells us how he came to the show thanks to Martin, Dan Fogelman and Jess Rosenthal. Being from Brooklyn, he was thrilled to take charge Only murders in the building, one of his inspirations being Rosemary’s baby.
“There hasn’t been a major apartment building show or movie since then,” Hoffman says.
In fact, the creator teases that season 2 will serve up a 1970s sensibility and a “serial killer attitude.”
Gomez also talks about his love of producing, his thoughts on a musical episode, and his upcoming projects.
Regarding the high stakes of Season 2, Gomez said, “To do another season of a show that really got the reaction it got is kind of nerve-wracking. I was nervous because I was like, : ‘How can I do better? How can I be better?’ “
Adds the multi-platinum interpreter: “With my full confidence in my body, it’s a million times better than season 1. We just have our characters, we really have a well mixed cast, it’s really diverse. You will be surprised.
