The Galaxy S23 might look a bit like the S22 Ultra
The Samsung Galaxy S22 series includes some of the best Android phones you can buy today, but tomorrow will soon be here, and we’ve been eagerly awaiting its successor, the Galaxy S23 series. Just like last time, Samsung is expected to launch three devices – the base Galaxy S23, S23 Plus and S23 Ultra – all of which will continue to use the same design, but with a few minor tweaks. What we saw in last week’s renders now supports additional support, as we see protective cases for the Galaxy S23 for the first time.
leaky ice universe share two pictures protective cases intended for the Galaxy S23, seeming to largely corroborate previous renders suggesting that the phone will look a little more like the Galaxy S22 Ultra this time around, without a large raised camera island surrounding the lenses. The overall placement of the tri-camera array and its flash appears unchanged from last year’s model, but here each camera lens protrudes independently from the rear panel. Looking closer it’s possible we could get a smaller raised area surrounding the lenses, but clearly not one extending to the edges of the phone like with the S22.
These cases look like official Samsung accessories for the Galaxy S22 series, but we don’t see any explicit markings or identifying marks confirming this. Finished in lavender and bright green, these photos reveal a protective inner layer, as well as what appear to be a pair of holes for a lanyard.

As for specs, the Galaxy S23 is expected to run the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 SoC, but the likelihood of Exynos chips for devices sold in certain markets remains a bone of contention. Other details gleaned from rumors so far include an in-box 25W charger and 50MP main camera. Samsung will likely unveil the Galaxy S23 series in early 2023.
