A Real Madrid fan has hilariously explained why he thinks Manchester City will “never be as big” as them or rivals Manchester United.
Madrid got the better of defending champions City in their Champions League clash on Wednesday night, beating Pep Guardiola’s side on penalties to reach the last four of the competition.
The result was something of a shock, with the overall standard of play before the game at the Etihad and City dominating the majority of the 120 minutes.
Madrid got the job done though and their supporters took to the streets of Manchester to celebrate their latest clash with Bayern Munich in a few weeks time.
One supporter in particular, in a hilarious off-field rant, took to City, criticizing their fans and comparing them to rivals United.
“I hate Guardiola but I have to say he is one of the best coaches in the world,” the delighted supporter began. ‘It’s true.
They continued: “But let me also tell you something. City, they don’t deserve this amazing team because the fans…’ before making a wrench motion to lock their mouth.
“They can’t be like that. You give this team to United and see how excited they will be to see these kinds of guys play every weekend. City fans… they will understand why they are not as big a team as Real Madrid, or Manchester United, Bayern Munich, Juventus, and even Barcelona too.
‘We are showing that we are the great team in Europe and the world, so maybe the more you realize how great Real Madrid is. Thank you very much.’
City won their first Champions League title last season, but are aiming to win their fourth consecutive Premier League title.
They have only enjoyed major success since being bought by billionaire Sheikh Mansou in 2008, with the likes of Madrid and United winning major trophies well before then.
City have won nine league titles in their history, compared to 20 for United and 35 for Real Madrid.
