THE mother of missing toddler, Quinton Simon, said she was the ‘bad guy’ in a TikTok video, in which viewers slam the mother after police named her the prime suspect in her son’s disappearance son.
Quinton, just 20 months old, disappeared from his home in Chatham County, Georgia on October 5 – where he lived with his mother, grandmother and mother’s boyfriend.
After just a week of searching – albeit an “exhaustive” one – authorities believe Quinton is dead, although his body has yet to be found.
On Thursday, Chief Jeff Hadley said: “What I can say is that the evidence we have so far based on multiple search warrants and interviews has led us to the conclusion that Quinton is deceased. “
Leilani Simon, 22, Quinton’s mother, has not been arrested, but cops have named her a prime suspect and said they don’t know where she was as of Thursday afternoon.
People who are now furious with Leilani, commented on her old TikTok video from 2020.
In the video, Leilani lip-syncs to Billie Eilish’s song Bad Guy.
The lyrics are: “I’m the bad guy. Make your mama sad. Make your girlfriend crazy. Can seduce your dad.
“I’m the bad guy, duh.”
Leilani sang this song with a creepy filter that made her eyes turn black and the video sounds wonky.
One commenter said, “Well, if that’s not the most accurate tiktok I’ve ever seen.”
Another person wrote: “Most suitable song…”
Other viewers called him by names like “demon”, “killer” and “devil”.
Police have not revealed why they suspect Leilani is behind the heinous crimes against her son, but said she is the only suspect at this time.
Chief Hadley said they did not charge the mother because ‘we will only do that when we feel we have everything we need’.
Authorities said they don’t believe Leilani is a flight risk, but they’ll likely be watching her, former FBI agent Jennifer Coffin told the US Sun.
“They don’t want to have a death investigation and a fugitive investigation at the same time,” Coffindaffer said.
Although cops believe Quinton is dead, their search for his body will continue “with every available resource we have,” Hadley said.
