The annual awards show honors the nation’s unsung heroes as stars from television, sports, politics and showbiz come together to celebrate “ordinary people who do extraordinary things.”

Host Carol Vorderman, 60, will take the helm again, but this year, for the first time in the show’s 22-year history, she will be joined by diversity star Ashley Banjo, 33, who recently been revealed as her new co-host.
Ashley said: “I feel like I’ve been a part of Pride of Britain for a few years now, but the chance to co-host it alongside Carol, who is a complete legend and a pro, is amazing.
“It is such a special show and an extremely moving and inspiring night.”

Pride of Britain sees a night of “extraordinary stories of bravery, selflessness and phenomenal fundraising feats” as well as a plethora of amazing surprises.

Among the winners is Harmonie-Rose Allen, a quadruple amputee, who wins the Child of Courage award for inspiring the nation with her courage and unwavering spirit.
While the Lifetime Achievement Award goes to activist Rosemary Cox, who set up the UK’s first organ donor registry, helping to save thousands of lives.
Activist sisters Amy and Ella Meek, 18 and 16, were named the British Pride’s first environmental champions for establishing a charity to help fight the global scourge of plastic pollution.

Meanwhile, this year’s Special Recognition Award goes to Gee Walker, who has forgiven his son’s murderers and dedicated his life to promoting racial harmony in his memory.
Speaking about the ceremony, Carol said, “My favorite part of the awards are the winners and how happy they are to be celebrated.
“These amazing people make you want to be a better person. And while everyone says how much that makes them cry, it’s also a celebration of all the really amazing things they’ve done.

Since the first ceremony in 1999, royalty, prime ministers and hundreds of personalities from show business, sports, politics and the arts have all attended.
The awards draw an audience of around five million viewers each year in a prime-time slot on ITV – making it the top-rated awards show of its kind on UK television.

Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 ceremony featured pre-recorded segments of recipients receiving their awards at home, while a host of big names traveled to the Royal Hospital Chelsea to film ties before the show.
As the awards aired on ITV, London landmarks including the London Eye, BT Tower and County Hall turned red, white and blue in tribute to the winners.
Marcus Rashford and the late Captain Sir Tom Moore were among those honored at the ceremony, which recognized the remarkable achievements of the British who have selflessly contributed to the nation and the world.
