The annual awards show honors the nation’s unsung heroes as stars from television, sports, politics and showbiz come together to celebrate “ordinary people who do extraordinary things.”
Host Carol Vorderman, 60, will take the helm again, but this year, for the first time in the show’s 22-year history, she will be joined by diversity star Ashley Banjo, 33, who recently been revealed as her new co-host.

In the announcement earlier this month, Ashley said: “I feel like I’ve been a part of Pride of Britain for a few years now, but the chance to co-host it alongside Carol, who is a complete legend and a pro, is amazing.

Meanwhile, this year’s Special Recognition Award goes to Gee Walker, who has forgiven his son’s murderers and dedicated his life to promoting racial harmony in his memory.

The awards draw an audience of around five million viewers each year in a prime-time slot on ITV – making it the top-rated awards show of its kind on UK television.
Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the 2020 ceremony featured pre-recorded segments of recipients receiving their awards at home, while a host of big names traveled to the Royal Hospital Chelsea to film ties before the show.
As the awards aired on ITV, London landmarks including the London Eye, BT Tower and County Hall turned red, white and blue in tribute to the winners.
