Neymar has posted a picture of his injured ankle on social media as he prepares to sit out for Brazil.
The Paris Saint-Germain star was knocked out late in their first 2-0 win against Serbia on Thursday.
Early footage from the match proved it looked like a bad move, with Brazil now having to go without one of their best players.
Neymar has now shown fans just how serious the injury is, with the 30-year-old resting and recuperating in the Brazil camp.
In an Instagram story, her ankle is visibly swollen and painful, with another photo showing her in protective material.
Despite the setback, he appears to be in a positive mood thanks to the caption “Boraaaa!!!” which translates to ‘Let’s go!’.
It is believed that Neymar will not be able to play for Brazil in their last Group G games against Switzerland and Cameroon.
He will be joined in recovery by defender Danilo, who also suffered a similar blow.
Brazil team doctor Rodrigo Lasmar said: “Neymar and Danilo had an MRI on Friday afternoon and we found ligament damage in the ankles of both of them.
“It’s important to be calm and to evaluate day by day. The idea is to recover them for the rest of the competition.
Neymar will be hoping for a quick recovery as he looks to add to his tally of six World Cup goals.
Brazilian fans will be equally eager for him to return, with South Americans hoping he can guide them to their sixth title in the competition.
