Players are dying to know what has become of the central position in NBA 2K22. For years, the veterans have played big big and have since dominated the arc. Good news for fans of the big stretch, no nerf has come to construction this year! But is this still the best construction for centers?
Consider the spoiled position as other versions have appeared thanks to new animations, badges and mechanics. It takes a lot of effort to go big in the “wrong” way. But is there the best way to make the big guys dominate like never before? Try this version and see why the experts at this place are switching to a new way out of fifth place.
The case of a pure speed defender
The large expandable build is still great this year, but with the new animations, improved shot counter, and badges, point guards and goalkeepers are now just as good at hitting the long three. Instead of competing for the role, why not take care of a role that is absolutely necessary against AI and human opponents?
On offense, this build will set a screen, then charge the rim. Half the time, the center gets an easy dunk. The other half of the time, the screen opens another player for an easy bucket. It’s a win-win. And this build’s defense is the second to know, capable of rushing to aid a sharp opponent, and quick enough to snap back into place if it breaks out of the trap.
For those who are still not convinced, remember that there are all new strip and block animations this year. These defensive stops are now easier to achieve and more effective. Players who want to shoot for that elusive five-fold double shouldn’t consider any other build as much as this one.
Go all out on defense / rebound
Obviously, a defense-and-rebound-oriented build will require a lot of defense and rebounding, so this division of skills makes sense. But there is a hidden advantage: This pie chart also allows the fastest possible cross.
Finishing will be important, but exiting the screen dunks will occur due to speed. So slowing down the build to get more finishing skills is pretty counterintuitive. Most dunks and layups will be close to the uncontested.
Maximum agility
Centers need to be able to help with defense, which means being able to get to the paint job even when their man is on the perimeter. Then they need to be able to exit in time if and when the slash player goes to the open man.
Covering all this space requires as much speed as possible in the stature of the great man.. Strength and upright are nice, but stature will take care of that enough already. So take the Camembert with the most agility.

The Flying attribute might look a bit low now, but this will be fixed during the physical attributes. Apart from that, the maximum stats in block, offensive rebound and defensive rebound will be appreciated by the whole team. The screen setup means teammates will be taking additional photos. Misses will likely fall into the arms of a cross built like this.
Free throw and passing accuracy are the only skills needed that are not considered a finish or defense / rebound. Remember, this style of play will never, ever need to dribble or shoot something that is not in the paint. The fifteen finishing badges are advantages that will increase the already high shooting percentage.
Adjust the physique
It’s scary to be too small a “big man”, but the extra speed is too good to pass up. Set the height to 6’9 “and watch the stat bonuses to speed (+9), acceleration (+11), flights (+9), driving lay-up (+10) and driving dunk (+18)! Blocking and rebound will decrease slightly, but these will be brought to maximum in a moment.
At 193 pounds, the speed and acceleration are as high as centers are capable of, which means this build will win a running race against any other center in the league.
There’s no reason not to use the maximum wingspan of 91 “. The only stats that drop are Strength, Mid-Range, and Three-Point Shot, each only decreasing by one. And this brings those critical defensive stats back to their maximum level. While this build is short, this long wingspan will allow them to block shots from the tallest players in the NBA..
Be a rim protector
Both takeover options are valid selections, but Rim Protector takeover is always useful. The most important part of the Rim Protector is that it gives the MyPlayer access to a suite of exclusive block animations.
These are not animations to be cute or stylish. Remember that this construction should block any player making a movement towards the net. These extra blocks allow this build to hit the ball at angles that seem almost guaranteed.
Critical badges
-
Fearless Finisher
-
Unlimited take-off
-
Lob Town Finisher
-
Reclamation boss
-
Wave Finisher
Most versions cannot always take advantage of Lob City Finisher, but this version will frequently find itself open when attacking the rim after setting a screen. Calling a pass can be time consuming, but calling a lob secures the bucket unless the passer is finicky with his accuracy.
-
Pursue the artist
-
Ball stripper
-
Interceptor
-
Bully
-
Pickpocket
-
Rim protector
-
Rebound fighter
This version literally saves the best for last. With a total of thirty badges to invest in defensive capabilities, there’s really nothing this center can’t do. The Ball Stripper badge is new this year and great for snatching the ball from sharp opponents. In a few games on Pro difficulty, this build managed to achieve a five-fold double, a feat never before accomplished in the NBA.
